“Biri-Gal” is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Biri-Gal was first introduced in May 2013 on the life-posting site STORYS.JP with the story “The Tale of a Last-in-Class Gal Who Raised Her Deviation Value by 40 in One Year and Passed Keio University, the Top Private University in Japan”. The story was later published and made into a movie by KADOKAWA.

depicts the conflict with her stubborn businessman father, her mother (Ah-chan) who prioritizes her children, and the rivalry with her siblings, all in a comedic touch.

The book became a million-seller, and the movie was a big hit, solidifying the popularity of the lead actress, Kasumi Arimura. The cover model, Koi Ishikawa, has also achieved her dream of appearing in the Tokyo Girls Collection and becoming an exclusive model for CanCam, and has been very active as a model and actress.

In the fall of 2024, a Chinese remake and book will be released, and it will become increasingly popular worldwide.

STORY

Sayaka, who attends a girls’ high school in Nagoya, spent her days playing with her friends until morning without studying.
