I also wanted to seriously challenge myself. Since then, I started studying seriously and went from being last in my grade in middle school to being third in my high school. I was accepted into my first-choice university abroad, which I thought was absolutely impossible.

I’ve been studying with Biri-Gal in my heart so many times that I can’t remember how many times I’ve been encouraged. Thank you very much. I struggled desperately when I couldn’t do anything about my first choice. Did that feeling reach them? I was accepted by all the schools (like a special student). And when I went to announce the acceptance of my first choice, the teacher really said, “You’re our Biri-Gal, aren’t you?” I can’t thank you enough. I will work hard to grow further along with the creation of the 10th anniversary site. Also, since I am aiming for the education industry, I will strive to meet you someday.

Through the movie “Biri-Gal”, I realized that the influence of the adults around them is significant for children to be able to dream about their future. It made me think about how to interact with children, what I can do as a parent, and what I want to cherish. I have attended Mr. Tsubota’s lectures many times, and from there, I developed an interest in psychology and transferred to a university to study psychology in my late 40s.

The potential that children have inside them far exceeds our imagination. Whether we can draw out and develop that potential, or whether we make children apathetic instead of drawing it out, depends largely on how the adults around them interact. I realized this, and it gave me a turning point in my own life. Thank you very much.

All parents wish for their children’s happiness, but their feelings often spin their wheels, causing parents to get frustrated and their expectations to make children feel apathetic. To improve this spinning, I am currently studying psychology and using my past experiences to support parents’ feelings becoming a driving force for children to envision dreams that excite them and to act towards them. First of all, I believe that it is essential for adults to show that they are enjoying their own lives in order for children to be able to dream about the future. I am excited to be able to provide such support, and I am studying with my high school children, aiming to go to graduate school next year.

I have stopped hesitating to set high goals and take on challenges. As a result, I graduated top of my class from graduate school, gained work experience, and am currently studying to earn an MBA at a business school abroad. I want to continue to take on exciting challenges in the future.

It was around the same time that I started studying coaching seriously. I was impressed by Professor Tsubota’s attitude of believing in his students, and I wanted to do what I could do.
-
Looking back, what kind of story is Biri-Gal to you?

It’s a story about a teacher who believes in children, and the children who were believed in becoming able to believe in themselves.

Since I was a student of the teacher’s cram school, what was written in the book felt like it was being spoken to me. I think Biri Gal is not a story about exams, but a family story, and I think it is a meaningful book for building human relationships. In particular, the idea of writing down 10 good points about any person is something I thought was even more worth doing after reading Biri Gal, and when I think “this person is annoying” or “this person doesn’t match with me” in my social life, I intentionally implement it.

I realized that the difference between achieving a goal and not achieving it depends on whether you can have a positive “belief that you can do it”, whether you can honestly rely on others, and your ability to immerse yourself.

Thanks to the influence of Biri Gal, I was able to inspire myself and as a result, I was able to pass the medical school transfer exam even as a mother of two. From this, for me, Biri Gal is a story that can be accomplished if you have seriousness and determination, and it may even change the protagonist, it was a story that triggered a turn for the better in my life.
